MESSAGE FROM THE MANAGER

Hello, and welcome back to another season of bowling. I’m having a hard time realizing that it’s this time already!!! I hope everyone has had a great summer. I hope that this season brings us all a lot of fun, new friends and some spectacular bowling.

On our web site you can access the Hall of Fame applications, the Cora Porter Award applications, state award applications as well as entry forms for all of our tournaments. You may download these as needed. Some of the applications are time sensitive so pay particular attention to the deadline dates.

The 2012 TSWBA Annual Meeting will be held on March 3, hosted by Roane County USBC WBA. Credential forms have been sent to all local association managers and MUST be returned to me on or before December 1, 2011. You may want to make sure your local manager gets them sent in on time.

TSWBA dues are $1.00 and are to be paid when the member pays her certification dues to the association. These dues are sent in to USBC via winlabs and USBC will send the TSWBA dues to us by direct deposit. Please be aware that if the $1.00 dues are not paid in advance, you will not be eligible for any state awards you may qualify for, including 300 games, 800 series and high average. Also, participation in any of the three state tournaments (Championship, Senior and Queens) is limited to TSWBA members only. If I do not have proof that you have paid your $1.00 dues, you will be required to do so before participation in the tournaments.

TSWBA presents awards for a first 400, 500, 600, 700, 800 series and for a first 300 game. The 400 series award has a qualifying average of 115 and under, and the 500 series has a qualifying average of 140 and under. 800 series and 300 game awards are presented at the annual meeting. These awards from TSWBA are a once in a lifetime award. A state high scratch game award, a high scratch series award and a state high average award is also presented at the annual meeting. All awards will be presented only to those bowlers who have paid the $1.00 TSWBA Dues.

If your association wishes to submit a name of one of your local women bowlers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities for the "Cora Porter Leadership Award" please be sure it is postmarked by September 1st. Be sure the form is filled out completely or it could be sent back by the committee.
